The average daily prison population in Vermont is approximately 1600 and we have a ministry relationship with about 20% throughout the state (about 300 inmates). Note: Your donations to The Church At Prison for the exercise of its religious and charitable purposes are tax deductible. To ensure the tax deductibility of your contributions, and to comply with IRS regulations, the Leadership must maintain exclusive oversight and discretion in the administration and disbursements of monies given. However, your recommendation of purpose and of beneficiaries can and will be considered by the Leadership. If the name of a person (beneficiary) appears on the memo line of the check it cannot be tax deductible according to IRS regulations. It is best to note the ministry name or purpose. The Church At Prison, Inc. is an IRS 501(c)(3) tax exempt Church, incorporated in the state of VT in 1997. CAP is supported by donations from Christian Churches, individuals and businesses. We receive no Federal or State funding for our religious programming. Over 80 churches from many denominations throughout VT and New England work with us, pray for us, use our resources, and some provide financial support for our ministry.
